JR Metal manufactures premium-grade Sponge Iron / DRI (Direct Reduced Iron) at its dedicated facility in Anantapur District, Andhra Pradesh. Located close to the iron ore belts of Bellary, the plant benefits from consistent access to high-quality raw materials and efficient logistics.
Our sponge iron is produced through a controlled reduction process using superior-grade iron ore and non-coking coal. The result is a product known for high metallization, low levels of sulphur and phosphorus, and stable thermal properties, making it highly suitable for electric arc and induction furnace operations.
The material delivers improved furnace productivity, consistent melt quality, and better control over carbon content. It also supports higher yield and lower slag formation, helping steel producers enhance efficiency while reducing operational costs.
Compared to traditional blast furnace routes, our DRI offers a more energy-efficient and environmentally responsible approach to steelmaking.
High Metallization
Our sponge iron boasts a high percentage of metallic iron, resulting in better furnace productivity and consistent melt quality.
Low Impurities
With minimal levels of sulphur and phosphorus, our DRI supports cleaner steelmaking and reduces slag generation.
Improved Energy Efficiency
Sponge iron reduces power consumption per ton of steel produced, lowering operational costs.
Enhanced Yield & Recovery
Offers better control over carbon content and minimizes loss during melting.
Environment-Friendly Alternative
Compared to traditional blast furnace routes, DRI is a more energy-efficient and eco-friendly solution for steel producers.
“JR Sponge Iron is designed to deliver maximum metallurgical efficiency and operational flexibility, making it the preferred input for manufacturers seeking high-quality, low-impurity feedstock.”
